 FALL FUNDRAISER

As Little Brown Church observes its 125th year, members are considering a really major celebration and fundraiser for this fall. This would involve reviving a Sunol tradition of holding a chili cook-off and bed races, with accompanying events ranging from live music and a silent auction to a local talent show and a pet parade.

This could be a lot of fun and a terrific way for our church to raise money while joining with other Sunol organizations to create a major event. But it would also require a great deal of volunteer help.

Council chairman Mike Brown listed some of the areas that would need volunteers:

Helping with set-up and cleanup
Serving food and drinks
Organizing the silent auction
Organizing the chili cook-off
Advertising
Organizing the bed races
Coordinating with local groups and businesses (Save our Sunol, 4-H, Sunol Business Guild, Bosco’s and other businesses, local wineries, Pleasanton/Niles businesses, etc.)
Coordinating with local police and other agencies for permits
Coordinating talent show or pet parade
Serving as overall chair of the event

As author Sid Fowler writes:
"God is in the questions."
